AKRHI Newsletter February 2024 Issue #1

Empowering Rural Women and Girls Through Literacy and Education

As we reflect on International Women's Day, celebrated just a fews days ago, we find it fitting to launch our inaugural newsletter at a time when the achievements and empowerment of women and girls are at the forefront of global conversation.

First and foremost, we are deeply thankful for the invaluable contributions of time, effort, and participation you have so generously shared with us. Your steadfast support has been the bedrock of our mission, transforming what was once a dream into a vibrant reality that has profoundly touched numerous lives.

Building on this foundation of gratitude, we are excited to present the first edition of our newsletter, passionately crafted to champion the empowerment of rural women and girls through the transformative power of literacy and education.

At AKHRI -Mothers and Daughters Literacy, we believe that knowledge is the key to unlocking the potential of every individual, and we are committed to bridging the educational gap in the rural communities. Together, we are forging a path toward inclusivity, equality, and prosperity for all.

This inaugural edition is a celebration of the incredible journey we've embarked on and the meaningful changes we're bringing to the lives of women and girls in the underprivileged community. Through this newsletter, we aim to keep you updated on our latest initiatives, successes, and the tangible impacts of our work, ensuring our community of supporters is informed and engaged every step of the way.

Our Mission and Vision

At AKHRI – Mothers and Daughters Literacy, we are dedicated to empowering women and girls through education. Our mission combines literacy, education, and job skills to spark community-led change. We envision a world where every woman and girl can learn safely, achieve their educational goals, and thrive in the labor market. Together, we're building a future of dignity and equality for all.

Program Objectives

  • Boost Literacy and Empowerment: Drive transformative change by significantly enhancing literacy rates among women and girls.

  • Expand Educational Access: Deliver essential literacy and numeracy skills to underprivileged women and girls in remote villages and refugee camps.

  • Foster Independence through Vocational Training: Provide vital vocational skills to women and girls in both urban and rural settings.

Transforming Lives Through Literacy

Since 2017, our literacy program has empowered over 600 women and girls, giving them the tools to change their lives and communities for the better

Many graduates of AKHRI’S literacy program now enjoy newfound independence, performing tasks like reading for continued learning and mobile banking on their own for the first time.

Through our accelerated program, girls have caught up on years of missed education, completing the equivalent of three years of study and setting them on a path to academic and personal success.
